Kate, a lifelong and avid equestrian, began her riding career at the age of 7 at Meadowbrook Stables in Columbus, GA. She evented through the Preliminary level and has earned her USDF Bronze and Silver Medals. She and the Trakehner stallion, Ladino, are currently ranked second in the nation in the 2024 Adult Amateur Adequan®/USDF Preliminary Year-End Awards standings.

A Pony Club graduate and passionate learner of all things related to horsemanship, equine care, and nutrition, Kate has found her calling as a farm owner and breeder of Trakehner sport horses. She enjoys supporting her daughter, Carolyn, in her equine pursuits, as she competes with the Trakehner mare "Vaya Con Dios."

Kate’s professional history as a neonatal intensive care nurse provided a medical aspect and inclination that she finds useful in daily life around a breeding and training farm, with the support of a few fantastic veterinarians. She realized her true calling 15 years ago and transitioned to barn management and equine reproduction and young horse care/training.

She found a passion for Trakehner sport horses and the people associated with them and has tailored her breeding program to encompass and encourage the production of amateur friendly, well rounded, intelligent sport horses who are inclined toward multiple disciplines. Oak Branch Farm is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream of owning an equine centered space that is a thriving, positive, uplifting environment “barn family” that cares for our charges at the highest level possible, supports one another in all endeavors, and encourages as we all pursue life long dreams and interaction with these amazing creatures.
